IQBAL
Justice Mrs. Qaiser Iqbal was born
on 31-12-1949, in Karachi, after initial schooling,
she obtained degree of B.Sc from Government Frontier
Girls College Peshawar, M.A. and L.L.B. from Peshawar
University and L.L.M. from Karachi University. She was
enrolled as an Advocate of Karachi Bar Association in
the year 1972 as well as the than High Court of Sindh
and Balochistan in the year 1974. She joined Sindh Subordinate
Judiciary as Civil Judge through Public Service Commission
in the year 1976, promoted as Senior Civil Judge in
the year 1982, promoted as District & Sessions Judge
in the year 1995. Worked as Special Judge, Banking Court,
Hyderabad, Administrative Judge, Banking Courts, Karachi
from the year (1996 to 1999), Chairman Insurance Appellate
Tribunal, Karachi in the year (1997 to 1999). District
& Sessions Judge (East) (1999-2000), District &
Sessions Judge Karachi (West) (2000-2003), Administrative
Judge, Accountability Courts, Sindh, Karachi till October
2005. She was elevated as Additional Judge of Sindh
High Court on 25th October 2005, and was confirmed in
the month of October 2006. She remained President of
Scientific Society of Government Frontier Girls College,
Peshawar, attended Special Courses at Federal Judicial
Academy Islamabad in the year 1990-91 as well as Sindh
Judicial Academy Karachi. She attended conference held
at Quetta in the year 1987 held by Women Division of
Pakistan, attended 10th Conference of National Association
of Women Judges at Washington D.C (U.S.A.) (1989). Attended
27th Shariah Course, Islamic University, Islamabad (1992)
and also attended the course held by Judicial Center
of Excellence Egypt affiliated to Al-Azhar University,
participated in seminars held by Excellence Center of
Study, Karachi University regarding Women at Karachi
in collaboration with United Nations (1994). Attended
the Conference held by National Police Academy in collaboration
with JAPAN (JICA), United nation (1995). Attended Workshop
held by NAB at Islamabad (2004). She has attended study
course regarding Alternate Dispute Resolution, at U.K.
and intensive programme for Judicial Education in Halifax,
Ottawa and Toronto Canada, in the year 2008.
