Mr. Justice (Retd) Munib Ahmed Khan
Born at Rampur,
U.P, India on May 08, 1949, in a family, having
roots in Pakistan Movement, as his Grand Mother was
first cousin of Moulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar. Migrated
to Pakistan in childhood, completed all education at
Karachi, passed M.A. (Int. Relation) in 1975 and done
LLB in the year 1977 in First Class from Karachi University.
Passed LLM in the year 1981 in First Division with distinction
in the thesis by obtaining highest marks. The
Thesis was written on the topic "LAW OF SOVEREIGN
IMMUNITY IN COMMERCIAL TRANSACTIONS". It was
examined by Mr. Justice ( Retd ) Sajjad Ali Shah. The
thesis was declared for Award and a Prize of Rs.1,000/-
was presented by Mr. Justice (Retd) Abdul Hai Qureshi
the then Chief Justice of Sindh High Court in a convocation,
held in 1983. Joined the Legal Profession and enrolled
as an Advocate in October 1978. Enrolled as an Advocate
of the High Court in 1980 and of Supreme Court in 1992.
Elected as Vice President of Karachi Bar association
in 1987 and was also elected unopposed as Honorary General
Secretary of Sindh High Court Bar Association in the
year 2005. During the tenure as Secretary took upon
and completed the task of computerizing the Cause List
and putting it on website.
Appointed as Additional Advocate General
Sindh in March 1997 and resigned from such position
in November 1998. During this tenure, most of the time,
remained engaged before the Hon’ble Supreme Court on
behalf of Sindh Government. Started teaching as Professor
in S. M. Government Law College in 1995 and till elevation
remained engaged in such position. He was also entrusted
the task of examining LLM Thesis.
Towards professional experience, conducted
cases of all nature, remained as Railway Standing Counsel
from 1980 till elevation to the Bench. Remained engaged
with House Building Finance Corporation in High Court
and Supreme Court from 1982 till elevation. Was engaged
as a WAPDA Counsel in superior Courts as well as Counsel
of Pakistan Steel, specially, in the Supreme Court matters.
Besides represented multinationals and other organization
in Courts and Tribunals.
